Flat track Indian FTR fresh from the DTRA series @krazyhorselondon

Unveiling the Indian Motorcycles FTR at Krazy Horse London

Indian Motorcycles has a history of success in flat track racing and now they're bringing that to the street. I was lucky enough to be invited to the UK launch at Krazy Horse London.

A chance meeting can open up opportunities that you may never consider otherwise. This was the case when I bumped into an old friend Paul Welch at Grill-n-Chill earlier this year. Paul and I originally met through our shared love of BMX, then realising we had more in common such as art, clothing and motorbikes. Paul works at Krazy Horse’s London establishment and invited me to their inaugural social evening, to celebrate the launch of the hot new FTR from Indian Motorcycles.

The Scout FTR1200 is a street bike inspired by flat track racing, drawing from Indian Motorcycle’s History and success in Flat Track Racing. The bike takes styling cues from the championship-winning FTR750 race bike that has dominated American Flat Track since it was introduced in 2016—and it’s a stunner. The bike received a lot of attention throughout the evening, as did the pure race versions that accompanied it.

While the FTR1200 was the main attraction, the evening was a chance for us all to experience all that Krazy Horse London has to offer.

This is no ordinary bike shop. They have an amazing selection of cool bikes from other manufacturers and builders such as NortonMV AgustaZero EngineeringFantic MotorHogtechZaetaPaton and KH Bespoke. Picking just one to take home would be a challenge.

Alongside all the bikes, there’s a great selection of quality apparel. Everything a stylish person could need for both on and off their bike from brands such as Deus, Dickies, Draggin, Levis Vintage Clothing, Pike Brothers, West Coast Choppers, Red Wing, Roland Sands, Jofama, Belstaff and Builtwell.

Paul and the rest of the team provided a great venue and invited a bunch of like-minded people to enjoy their hospitality. As an outsider, I felt the evening was a great success; hopefully, there will be more like this.

The Krazy Horse sofas saw a lot of conversations throughout the evening. Their shop is a cool place to hang out and catch up with people.

Fantic Caballero scrambler

The Fantic Caballero Scrambler is a sweet looking bike, I could have quite easily taken this one home.

I started having silly thoughts about how this lovely Norton would feel blasting down twisty B-roads, I bet it would easily pay back with smiles per mile.

Artwork and memorabilia adorn the shelves and walls around the Krazy Horse store, all helping to provide a chilled and welcoming atmosphere, while Indian Scout Bobbers sit waiting for their new owners adorned with some lovely, branded accessories.
