Motorcycle racer on Margate Beach

Flag, Throttle, Action in Margate for the Malle London Beach Race

It's hard to believe we're into the third year of the Malle Beach Race, but we are, and it still feels fresh. This year saw over 200 riders participating in a series of races on inappropriate two- and three-wheeled motorcycles. Everything from custom, classic and vintage rides to stock and race bikes. The one thing in common was the desire to have fun on the beach.

Thinking back over the previous events, the 2020 Malle Beach Race was a very wet and very windy affair. Riders, spectators and marshals had to endure 89mph winds and driving rain. The weather was much better when we all returned to Marvellous Margate for the 2021 Malle Beach Race. However, a surprise tidal swell during the final of ’The Derby’ meant that the rising sea stopped play. This year, the sun shone on everyone, and even the sea played nicely.
