Summer sun, great people and an array of the finest air-cooled Volkswagens and Porsches displayed along the fairways and bunkers of the perfectly groomed Sandford Springs Golf Club made for a great weekend.
Classic car shows can often be dull affairs. Cars neatly lined up in featureless fields resemble nothing more than expensive car parks. Thankfully, there’s a particular group of show organisers that understand this. They work hard to seek out unique locations, carefully invite a selection of exciting vehicles and curate their positioning to make the most of the area. In turn, this delivers visually stunning displays that offer fantastic photo opportunities—a far cry from cars-in-a-field. Classics at the Clubhouse is one of these events.
PJ, Nick and the team worked their magic and convinced the Sandford Springs Golf Club that it would be a great idea to park the cars along the fairways, in the bunkers, on the perfectly groomed greens, and throughout the woods that run alongside the fairways. The result was a unique and spectacular show.

Special Displays
The venue had a series of special displays made up of a curated selection of interesting cars. Teeing things off with a small collection of the UK’s finest air-cooled Art Cars, including Matt Pickering’s amazing 914 and @930graffiti 911.

The woodland housed the Survivor Display, a selection of unrestored, well-used, and loved vehicles. The setting perfectly fulfilled dreams about discovering amazing air-cooled treasure on a ramble.
Out on the fairways was a collection of 911 G-Bodies celebrating the impact-bumper generation. A stunning group of Karmann Ghias, stock and custom, with a notable Type 3 Ghia contingent. Over on the central green area on the 11th was a remarkable display of stock and old-speed pre-1957 air-cooled vehicles – including split and oval window bugs, early split busses, low-light Ghias and Porsche 356s.
