It’s cold. It’s early.
Best to get that out of the way.
It’s Legends Drivers Club first gathering of 2026
I’m riding shotgun in the Von Dirk 997.
First time at a winter gathering like this. Watching, learning.
A good sign early on – headlights flash, hands lift as cars pass.
You know you’re heading the right way.
Destination: Tunbridge Porsche.
An independent dealership in Kent.
We arrive to a 911 Dakar sat out front. Skis on the roof. Luggage strapped down. Full theatre. I’m sold already.
Then something quieter. A 928, pulled from a garage after years hidden away. Patina intact. Story even better. You could see it in the owner’s face – pride, relief, a need to tell it properly.
A Cayenne overland build sits nearby. Right at home in the frost.
Coffee’s flowing. Conversations already deep. Cars keep arriving. Seventies through to now. No hierarchy, just presence.
A Carrera RS with the ducktail. A 964 Turbo 3.6. Modern cars, too – including a Speedster from Paragon. The mix works. Always does.
The dealership opens its doors without hesitation. Showroom access. Time to look. Time to talk.
There’s something in that. Don’t underestimate curiosity. Or the people drawn to it.
I’m still new to this world. I assumed it might be closed off. It isn’t.
Ask a question and someone answers.
No gatekeeping. Just people who care about what they drive, and why.
It’s not just Porsche owners. It’s people drawn to design, to story, to expression.
You can’t predict where it leads. You just show up and take part.
The past gives it weight. The present does the rest.
More of these to come.
If it feels like your thing, you already know where to find us.
Paul
