After a such long, but fun-filled Friday I was eager to get back to the Goodwood Circuit to see what the day held for me. This mornings drive was only 28 miles from my bed & breakfast in Findon. However, starting out a lot closer didn’t mean me getting there much quicker. Unfortunately, there was a tailback on the A27 which meant a 20-minute journey turned into almost an hour. This didn’t dampen my spirits as I was happily sitting in my 911 enjoying all the fine classic and contemporary machinery around me.
Walking back into Revival there’s a throng of happy people and it’s a lovely change to hear everyone saying good morning to each other. No pushing or rudeness, if only every morning commute could be this civilised – you really do feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
My first port of call was the paddock. Even after a whole day, there’s still plenty to see. Apart from cars, nearly everyone is in period dress. Every corner of the venue has been dressed to match including all sponsorship or advertising. All this attention to detail really adds to the atmosphere.
The authenticity and detail that some people go to are amazing. Military uniforms, school uniforms, land girls and from cocktail dresses to road workers every walk of life was covered. Smiling people were everywhere, full of enthusiasm and genuine interest in everything going on.
I’d seen photographs of previous Revivals and the Hornets Motorcycle Club display always looked great. These guys and gals know how to have fun and put on a great display.
